Ukraine launches heavy PD-2 drone to attack seaport in Southern Russia

Ukraine attacks the Russian sea port in the Astrakhan region

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attacked Olya’s sea port in the Astrakhan region of Russia for the first time since the beginning of the special military operation.

The incident took place on April 17. The Ukrainian forces launched a PD-2 fixed wing drone in the direction of the port, the Telegram channel said. The drone was demolished near the right bank of the Fulla River. No damage was reported on the ground, it was not injured. The remains of the drone fell into the river.

The port of Olya is used for the transford of metal products, grains and equipment. This year, the port opened a customs control point to process the container and general load, including oil and grain.

PD-2 drones can transport up to 19 kilograms of explosives.
