Two brothers attending the High School of Santa Ana have been arrested in an incident of stabbing in the campus that left a dead student and two other courts.
The brothers, 17 and 15, appeared with their parents at the headquarters of the Police Department and delivered on Wednesday night, only a few hours after the deadly stabbing, according to the Santa Ana police officer, Natalie García.
She said that the two teenagers were interrogated, then arrested and transported to the Youth Hall, where each one was reserved under suspicion of murder and attempted murder. She said the weapon used in the attack is still missing.
The incident occurred at 3:25 pm on Wednesday, when the police officers of the School of Santa Ana reported a stabbing that occurred during a fight against the High School of Santa Ana.
At least three male students, aged 14, 15 and 16, were found with a white weapon wounds and transported by firefighters to a local hospital.
The 14 -year -old, police said, died from his wounds, and the other two victims were listed as stable.
The murdered child was identified as Armando Morales de Santa Ana by Forenal officials of Orange County and his family created a Gofundme page to raise money for his funeral expenses.
Misael Morales wrote on the site that his brother was a happy and intelligent child who was known for making people laugh.
Jazmin Delgado, the victim’s cousin, echoed those words in an interview with ABC 7.
“He was always a happy child and he always loved to help and was an incredible little boy,” Delgado told the station. Armando’s family said the teenager was in the wrong place at the wrong time. They said he was intervening to help his friends when he was stabbed.
Homicide researchers believed that the five adolescents involved were suspended gang members and were investigating stabbing as a gang agreement, according to Garcia. But what caused the confrontation remained under investigation.
She said the researchers also believed that a weapon was used in the attack and that she could not locate it so far.
