Welcome to Achievement: Do you stay the Trump-Musk association? It is complicated, but after today, it looks more like itself.
What has just happened? President Donald Trump has set his legislative hopes in a “big and beautiful bill,” why he approved the Chamber last month. Today, Elon Musk Tok points to the bill as “massive, outrageous, full of pork … an unpleasant abomination” that “would massively increase” the budget deficit.
Does what Musk thinks? Maybe not as much as before. This is a moment of transition for Musk, which is leaving after the official end of his time as an employee of the government last week. Trump, at a farewell press conference, minimized the game, saying: “Elon really does not go. It will be round trip.”
In private, according to reports, Trump has expressed some skepticism about Musk, asking if the efforts of the Government’s efficiency department were “all shit.” Despite that, the reports have so far suggested that the Trump-Musk relationship is still generally friendly, but the new Musk coast against Trump’s bill can be a sign that things are frayed.
What did Musk Real achieve? Somehow, relatively little, as my colleague Andrew Prokop, Musk and Dog reported they did not approach the cuts at the promised scale. At the same time, however, Musk had caused a horrible amount of damage: his decimation of American foreign aid may have already caused hundreds of thousands of deaths, according to some estimates, and will continue to cause even more.
What will Musk do now? Supposedly, he returns to focus on his long list of companies, Tesla and Spacex Chief among them, and spend less time in politics. Musk also said in May that he would make “much less” political expense in the future. At least, his comments on Tuesday suggest that he has not done all the way with politics, he thought he was so influential that it can be.
And with that, it’s time to log in …
We will return to a Logoff classic today, with the favorite live broadcast of my colleague Patrick Reis of an Eagle Nest of Eagle Calva. The nest, home of the Eagles Calvas Jackie and Shadow, is located in Big Bear Valley, California. I hope it’s a quiet moment for your event, and see you here tomorrow.
