“Munir Ahmed has fired from the service with an immediate effect for hiding his Mariard to a Pakistani citizen and who hosts her beyond the validity of her visa.
“It was discovered that his actions violated the service behavior and detrimental to national security,” said CRPF spokesman’s spokesman, Inspector General (DIG) M Dhinakararan.
Ahmed’s marriage with Menal Khan came to light after India asked the Pakistani citizens to leave the country as part of the tasks of diplomatic measures following the terrorist attack of Pahalgam on April 22, in which 26 people, mostly tourists, were killed.
Khan’s deportation, however, was suspended by a court a few days ago.
The two married a video call on May 24 last year and Ahmed hinted at their organization about the said “Nikah” on October 14, 2024.
A CRPF investigation discovered that Jawan “had not hinted” at the authorities formally before his wedding as required. In addition, he did not report on his wife’s “harvest” about an expired visa in India to the interested authorities.
Khan entered India through the border with Wagah-Attari on February 28 and his short-term visa ended on March 22. Until that time, he stayed at Ahmed’s house in Jammu, the officials said.
The CRPF said it exceeded an overdue visa and Ahmed, “he continued to give him refuge and housed a Pakistani citizen, committing to state security.”
