Max Healthcare Institute LTD will invest ₹ 6,000 million rupees for 2028 to add 3,700 beds in key locations in India, said its president and managing director ABHAY SOI on Tuesday.
Max Healthcare, who operates 22 medical care facilities with around 5,000 beds that could currently have about 30 hospitals by 2028, SOI told PTI.
Speaking outside the inauguration of the Max Super Specialty Hospital, Dwarka, a 300 -beds Greenfield center, said the company “will reinvest what we generate in the next 10 years to create medical care assets.”
“Only this year, we are opening four (hospitals). This (Dwarka) was the first of the four,” said Soi.
Max Healthcare plans to inaugurate another three hospitals in Mohali, Mumbai and Saket, New Delhi at the end of this year.
The inauguration of the Dwarka Hospital is a strategic step in the broader expansion plan of Max Healthcare to add 3,700 beds in key locations in India by 2028, the company said.
“Some existing hospitals will be expanded and some new hospitals will be expanded,” he said that by 2028 Max Healthcare hopes to have around 30 hospitals in total.
When asked about investments for general expansion, SOI said: “They will be around ₹ 6,000 million rupees … we are financing it internally. We will reinvest all our profits to create new hospital beds.” On whether the company will consider acquisitions in the future, SOI, “we are opportunistic about it, as we have the opportunity, we will buy.” The budget for the acquisition will be approximately the investment for organic expansion, he added.
The new installation in Dwarka houses around 120 critical care beds, 10 theaters of modular operations and advanced cathetic laboratories.
It also sacrifices the tertiary and quaternary attention advanced in key specialties, including cardiac sciences, oncology, renal sciences, neurosciences, robotic surgery, pediatrics and organization transplants. Soi said that Delhi-DNR is a critical center for advanced medical care, and Dwarka, given its strong connectivity with multiple parts of Delhi, is perfectly positioned to meet the growing health needs of the region.
“As a Greenfield company, this installation reflects our intention to expand significantly through the construction of a high quality infrastructure in locations that improve accessibility,” he said.
