When I was a child, I used to build worlds for my barbies. Would spend endless hours with me Sister” FaithPreparation of intricate kingdoms, sew small garments of vibrant fabrics and design corks furniture, toothpicks and bottles tapas. The first experiences such as the thesis presented me with the magic of design and inspired me to become a designer and artist. So you can imagine how excited it was when @barbiestyle contacted what sounded like a dream collaboration: Jungalow designing a room in Barbie’s Dreamhouse!

We had our first call with the Mattel team (the friendliest and most creative group!) One Friday and the following Monday we were in their offices examining their old archives of Barbie furniture, buying our house of dreams! I just have to bring out! It was amazing. The art and attention to detail that is destined to build (or in some cases the supply) everything related to Barbie is really inspiring.
We can choose different doll heads, body and clothing types, oh clothes!
Very great to see all the heads of Barbie dolls! Your hair and makeup are always in point!
How fun is this selection of costumes? We could stop obtaining and awwing when we were making our selections. Too fun!
Aimee of the Jungelow team (left) found some Barbie pants that we need in our size! And Jungalow’s own Piper (right) having fun playing Barbie’s stylist for a day!
After that, we returned to Jungalow’s study and began to conceptualize. I gathered images of inspiration and render a room where I could see Barbie and his friends having a party.
My hope was to create a space where Barbie could hug his individuality and be surrounded by a kaleidoscope of textures, tones and plant life. We recover vintage furniture, and we recycle and reinvent them, as did Faith and I did as children. But, this dream house is not just a game space; It is an invitation for Barbie, his friends, and for all of us to nurture our NN creativity, celebrate one’s uniqueness and delight with the magic and fun of unbridled self -expression.
Enter, we play, believe and celebrate our internal wild child in this Board of Dreams of Barbie!
