Family Wiped Out in Gaza, Khan Yunis Strike Raises the Civilian Death Toll

An Israeli strike against Khan Yunis in southern Gaza on Saturday, May 3, resulted in the tragic deaths of at least 11 people, including three babies of up to one year, according to the Wafa news agency.

The night attack, which went to the house of the Al-Bayram family, has caused outrage among Khan Yunis residents and intensified concerns about the devastating impact of the current conflict on civilians.

Gaza’s civil defense (an agency responsible for rescue operations and emergency response in the Gaza Strip), Mahmud Bassal, reported that the victims, eight of which have been identified to the family.

Among the dead was a one -month baby, as well as a one -year -old boy and girl. Rescue workers and residents were desperately seeking survivors through the debris with their naked hands while using torches to illuminate the remains.

Fayka Abu Hatab, resident of a nearby building, spoke with AFP about the moments of the attack.

“I saw a bright light, then there was an explosion, and the dust covered the entire area,” he said. “We couldn’t see anything, everything darkened. All our windows were destroyed, our rooms were destroyed and the neighbors’ house was destroyed.”

An Israeli army spokesman confirmed the strike, stating that he went to a “Hamas terrorist member”, but did not show more details.

The incident occurs when Israel has resumed its military offensive in Gaza on March 18, 2025 after a two -month truce, the situation of the already serious humanitarian situation in the territory with the war was even more.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza informs that at least 2,396 people have been killed since Israel resumed its campaign, which brought the number of deaths in general since the war began an amazing 52,495.
