At least two Palestinians were killed on Tuesday when Israel launched a large -scale military operation in the occupied city of Nblove, the Palestinian Ministry of Health and the Israeli army.
The army said the troops opened fire and “eliminated” two Palestinians who had tried to steal a soldier’s weapon when the “anti -terrorism operation” was underway in the ancient city of Nblus.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health said the authorities had been informed by Israel about the deaths of Nidal Amira, 40, and Khaled Amira, 35. He did not specify if the two were related.
The Israeli army said a soldier was “moderately injured” and three others slightly in the incident.
The AFPTV images showed Israeli soldiers standing in one of the narrow streets of the old city, next to two corpses.
An AFP journalist said that the military dishes or vehicles entered the Historic Center of NBLUS shortly after midnight (2100 GMT on Monday). A curfew touches had announced the leg on the speakers the day before.
In an important square outside the old city, young people and children gathered on Tuesday to burn tires and throw stones at Israeli armored vehicles.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society said that the duration of the Israeli incursion, at least three people were injured by the bullet shrapnel, four of “physical assault” and silver more because of the inhalation of tear gas.
He added that the ambulances were blocked from Enter the Old City, obstructing the work of medical teams.
Israel said in a statement that his forces had registered “250 structures” and arrested the operation of “six water” of duration on Tuesday.
The north of the West Bank, where NBLUS is located, has been the objective of a great Israeli offensive since the end of January.
Israel has occupied the West Bank since 1967 and its forces regularly perform raids that the authorities say they attack the Palestinian militants.
An AFP correspondent in NBLUS saw Israeli soldiers looking for stores and stopping several people to interrogate on Tuesday.
The correspondent said that the Israeli flags were raised on the roofs of the tasks of the buildings on the troops and used as temporary bases.
The ancient city of Nblove has seen several important Israeli raids, even in 2022 and 2023, large -scale operations aimed at a local group of armed combatants, and in 2002 turns the second Palestinian intifada, or uprising.
Violence has increased in the West Bank since the beginning of the Gaza War, caused by the unprecedented attack of October 7, 2023 against Israel by the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas.
The Palestinian authority says that at least 938 Palestinians, including combatants, but also many civilians, have been killed in the West Bank by Israeli soldiers or settlers since October 2023.
During the same period, at least 35 Israelis, including civilians and soldiers, have been killed in Palestinian attacks or duration of Israeli military incursions, according to the official Israeli figures.
