The president of the United States, Donald Trump, called Ukraine on Sunday to accept Russia’s sacrifice or direct conversations in Istanbul, saying that a face -to -face meeting is possible if peace was possible.
Ukraine said previously that he was ready to participate in the meeting, but only once the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, accepted a proposal of the 30 -day fire of kyiv and his allies.

Zelensky wrote in X later: “We expect a complete and durable fire, starting tomorrow, to provide the basics necessary for diplomacy.”
“It makes no sense to prolong the murders. And I will be waiting for Putin in [Turkey] Thursday. Personally. I hope that this time the Russians do not apologize. “
