Ukraine obtains the first ACS-890 recognition air radar from Sweden
Ukraine has received the first of the two Swedes-890 Swedish recognition planes equipped with advanced radar systems. On Monday, April 21, the plane made its first test flight on Lviv.

Test flight confused with a UFO
Initially, the inaugural test flight of the “flying radar” on the city of Lviv was confused with a UFO. His flight route was visible in the FlightTradar24 monitoring service.

ASC-890 can detect objectives up to 400 km away

In addition to Sweden, these airplanes are operated by Thailand. Poland acquired two of those planes in March 2024.
ASC-890 is expected to provide improved capabilities for a more effective use of F-16 and other combat aircraft.

He SAAB 340 AEW & C is a Swedish alert and early control plane in the air (AEW & C). A variant of the SAAB 340 plane is designated S 100B Argus By the Swedish Air Force. Compared to the traditional circular radar in the AWACS planes, such as E-3 Sentry, the SAAB 340 has a PS-890 non-mobile radar made with the Erieye system.
