Mandatory Credit: Kamil Krzaczynski-Imagn Images Kelsey Mitchell scored 17 points in the game and Natasha Howard contributed 13 to lift Indiana’s visiting fever about the Chicago Sky 79-52 on Saturday in the first WNBA game played at United Center.
Indiana (4-4) forced Chicago (2-5) to 21 ball losses. The fever led the cable to the cable and built an advantage of 30 points almost three weeks after enruting the sky by 35.
The success of Deep propelled Indiana. The fever reached 11 triples for the second consecutive game, led by AARI McDonald (12 points), who connected in three from beyond the arch.
The fever coach, Stephanie White, lost the game due to personal reasons. Austin Kelly assistant served as an interim coach.
The sky fired 32.1 percent from the floor compared to 45.8 percent for fever. Special Chicago fought for facilitation after shipowner Courtney Vandersloot left the game with a right knee injury in a contactless play in the first quarter. Team training staff helped Vandersloot out of the floor.
Indiana limited Chicago to 11 points in the third quarter. Kamilla Cardoso and Rebecca Allen led the sky with eight points each. Angel Reese obtained a maximum of 12 rebounds.
Aliyah Boston added 11 points for Indiana. Lexie Hull led the team with six rebounds, while Boston, Howard and Mitchell took five each to help Indiana to an advantage of 32-30 in the glass.
Chicago followed the many axis 14 in the first half as the advantage of 41-28 in the intermediate.
Mitchell (nine points) and Howard (eight) led a balanced attack for Indiana before the break. The fever repaired 11 assists in 14 fields were made in the first half.
Caitlin Clark of Indiana (Quad Izquierdo) and Sophie Cunningham (right ankle) lost the game. Clark starred in the victory at the house of the season of the Fever season against Chicago on May 17 with a triple double (20 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds).
Clark’s impact on the sale of tickets upon entering the League in 2024 helped change the Wintrust Arena game to United Center, home of the NBA Chicago Bulls. A multitude of 19,496 Sky franchise recorded the game. The teams are ready to meet again at United Center on July 27.
