A person died and 32 were hospitalized in the morning of Mother’s Day after a burning accident between a tourist bus and a SUV on highway 60.
The authorities were sent to Hacienda Heights at 5:07 am when they arrived at the scene, the SUV was already wrapped in flames, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The flames did not extend to the bus, authorities said. A person was declared dead on the scene, and 32 people were transported to the hospital, with at least two in critical condition.
Three lanes on highway 60s West west of Avevenue Avenue will be closed for an unknown duration as the investigation continues, according to the California road patrol.
